‘Boy’ by Roald Dahl - Autobiographies - Year 6 or lower KS3 Scheme of Work - Remote Learning Lessons This scheme has been designed for Year 7 mixed-ability classes who are all learning from home (Remote Learning). All students have their own devices. All lessons are fully differentiated. The scheme of work is designed to teach students how to write their own autoiography. Over the course of they scheme, they will practise a range of skills in order to write an autobiography. They will end up with their own digital booklet of their autobiography. Skills include: Research skills Comprehension skills How to create a book cover Descriptive writing skills - figurative language Creating Humour Simple, compound and complex sentences Creating a villain - focus on adjectives, verbs and exaggeration Improving vocabulary Creating tension - parts of a story (exposition, complication, climax and resolution) Sentence starters Punctuation Putting together our autobiography (proof-reading and drafting skills) Final extract - assessment
