I used this with my year 9's studying Medicine Through Time. Its an auction to get them to think through the factors that affected Egyptian medicine using an auction style approach. Each pupil had to barter for the information they needed about the factors. They could do this from each other or myself. There are coins to print but pirate gold works better!

Students look at the key events of the high Middle Ages and use these to identify impacts and judge factors for change throughout the course. Lessons include Who were Britain’s Merry Monarchs? Two lessons on the Black Death. The first lesson focuses on sources to encourage students to analyse why the Black Death spread according to the people of the time. The sources are translated but in archaic language to challenge and introduce students to the language of the time. The second lesson focuses on the cures and impacts of the Black Death and encourages an exploration of long and short term impacts.

This is a witch Hunt lesson I produced for my Year 9's studying Crime and Punishment.\nI had previously studied the causes of witch hunts and I then did a lesson on a source paper on witch hunts.

Decision Making Exercise on the Somme. Students must decide how to solve the problems facing the commanders at the battle of the Somme. You can walk through a the tactics they have arrived at if you wish. They then compare their tactics with the battle itself.
