I used this with my year 9's studying Medicine Through Time. Its an auction to get them to think through the factors that affected Egyptian medicine using an auction style approach. Each pupil had to barter for the information they needed about the factors. They could do this from each other or myself. There are coins to print but pirate gold works better!

A scheme of work based on Medieval England and Europe. It looks to answer the question: which factor had the power to change medieval society? Students look at the key events of the high Middle Ages and use these to identify impacts and judge factors for change throughout the course. Lessons include Who were Britain’s Merry Monarchs? What was the impact of the Feudal System: How did the Church impact people’s lives? Why did Becket and Henry II come into conflict? Was Elanor of Aquitaine a powerful woman? Why did people go on crusade? How powerful were the barons (King John and Magna Carta)? Why did the Black Death spread so quickly? Did the Black Death change society? Could the peasants change their lot? How much did life change in the Middle Ages? Revision lesson. Comes with written scheme of work and embedded homeworks. Assessment is also attached with simple mark scheme ready to be updated. Also includes a linked learning graph to support pupils reviewing and re-using their learning to better their outcomes.
