Keyboard Skills Booklet 1 for Key Stage 3 Music

Keyboard Skills Booklet 1 for Key Stage 3 Music

(0)
This is the first booklet in a set of three designed to develop the keyboard skills of key stage 3 students. The focus in this first booklet is learning how to play a melody with the right hand. Like the other two booklets in this series, this booklet takes students from a rudimentary level all the way to a very advanced level, treating the skill of single hand melody playing as separate to playing a melody with 2 hands across two staves, and playing a melody and accompaniment with coordinated hands. This philosophy allows students to achieve high levels even if they are unable to coordinate their left and right hands to play two parts simultaneously. Four of the pieces in this booklet have Sibelius backing tracks in MP3 format to help bring greater context to the melodies that students will be learning. Most of the pieces in this booklet are from films, so it would work very well to complement a film music scheme of work: Jaws theme; Chariots of Fire Theme; Pirates of the Caribbean Theme; Pink Panther Theme; Godfather Theme; Braveheart Theme. Only Scarborough Fair is a non-film piece. The pieces are all arranged with the correct fingering to allow students to learn good technique, and they are all fun to learn, and are fairly well-known. I hope that your students will enjoy learning them as much as I have enjoyed creating this booklet. Thank you for considering this resource for your classroom.

Keyboard Skills Booklet 2 for Key Stage 3 Music

This is the second booklet in a set of three designed to develop the keyboard skills of key stage 3 students. The focus in this second booklet is learning how to play a melody with spread across the left and right hands on two staves. Like the other two booklets in this series, this booklet takes students from a rudimentary level all the way to a very advanced level, treating the skill of playing a melody with 2 hands across two staves as being separate to single hand melody playing, and playing a melody and accompaniment with coordinated hands. This philosophy allows students to achieve high levels even if they are unable to coordinate their left and right hands to play two parts simultaneously. Four of the pieces in this booklet have Sibelius backing tracks in MP3 format to help bring greater context to the melodies that students will be learning. The pieces in this booklet are quite varied, from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Beat It by Michael Jackson, so there will be something for everyone across the various levels. Other pieces include Hoist the Colours, Spongebob Square Pants Theme, Axel F Theme, and Bob the Builder Theme. The pieces are all arranged with the correct fingering to allow students to learn good technique, and they are all fun to learn, and are fairly well-known. I hope that your students will enjoy learning them as much as I have enjoyed creating this booklet. Thank you for considering this resource for your classroom.

Vivaldi Concerto Il Gardellino Sibelius Score AQA A Level Music

(0)
This resource comprises a complete Sibelius Score for Movement 1, Movement 2, and Movement 3 of Antonio Vivaldi’s Flute Concerto in D Major, Il Gardellino, RV428, currently on the AQA A Level Music specification as part of Strand A, the Baroque Solo Concerto. For your ease and convenience, you will find 10 different Sibelius versions of each movement as follows: Sibelius 7.5; Sibelius 7; Sibelius 7 First; Sibelius 6; Sibelius 6 First; Sibelius Student; Sibelius 5; Sibelius 5 First; Sibelius 5 Student; Sibelius 4. A Sibelius score is an invaluable tool when teaching set works as it allows you to isolate specific passages, parts, or combinations of parts within the score to play back or study. It brings the more traditional printed score to life, and not only that, it is an extremely useful aid for analysis, too – for teachers and students. Sibelius software contains some amazing tools that, amongst many other things, will analyse chords for you across parts, find motifs, including developments of motifs. At the other end of the learning spectrum, if you have students who struggle with reading alto clef or with transposing parts, and it is getting in the way of their ability to analyse harmony in class, with a click or two you can put parts in treble clef and or at concert pitch! Students can then continue in their own time to develop their wider score-reading skills without them falling behind in harmonic analysis, too. A Sibelius score is a win-win, every time – just make sure that you have a version of the Sibelius software mentioned in the 2nd paragraph above, if you decide to purchase this resource. When you choose to buy a resource from Branch Line Music, you can have the confidence that it will be of the highest quality in both content and presentation. Furthermore, you will find it very straight-forward to contact me if you need to, or would like to. Pre-purchase, you can email any questions to branchlinemusic@hotmail.com, and I aim to respond within a few hours; post-purchase, you will find a ‘welcome letter’ in the resource download with a contact telephone number. Grieg Notturno Sibelius Score AQA A Level Music

(0)
This resource comprises a complete Sibelius Score for Edvard Grieg’s Notturno, Opus 54 No. 4 for piano, currently on the AQA A Level Music specification as part of Strand C, the Piano Music of Chopin, Brahms, and Grieg. For your ease and convenience, you will find 10 different Sibelius versions of the score as follows: Sibelius 7.5; Sibelius 7; Sibelius 7 First; Sibelius 6; Sibelius 6 First; Sibelius Student; Sibelius 5; Sibelius 5 First; Sibelius 5 Student; Sibelius 4. A Sibelius score is an invaluable tool when teaching set works as it allows you to isolate specific passages and the right or left hand piano parts of the score to either play back or study. It brings the more traditional printed score to life, and not only that, it is an extremely useful aid for analysis, too – for teachers and students. Sibelius software contains some excellent tools that, amongst many other things, will analyse chords for you across both parts, making key changes easier to identify, and it can find motifs, including developments of motifs. At the other end of the learning spectrum, if you have students who struggle with reading the bass clef part, and it is getting in the way of their ability to analyse harmony in class, with a click or two you can put both parts into treble clef, and transpose it up an octave!
