Mainly English GCSE resources, however I have also worked within a Special Needs department as a Support Assistant and then a teacher so I have included some resources for this area also. I hope you find them useful, feel free to adapt and use as you wish.

Students with Additional Learning Needs: A Strategy Bank for Teachers

(0)
A training booklet describing many strategies for the most common additional learning needs I have come across in schools and FE colleges, including Autism, behavioural issues, hearing/visual impairments, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, handwriting difficulties and language needs. Each difficulty has at least 15-20 different strategies that I have found most useful in supporting my learners with additional needs. Please note that these are not a one size fits all approach, and what works perfectly for one student may crash and burn for another! Like with most things in teaching, it is a trial and error process. However I have found these to be the most successful strategies for me so far.

For each problem there are suggestions for strategies to tackle it that will benefit the whole class and that can be built into engaging activities.

A pack of resources for managing challenging behaviour in the classroom. The aim is to provide a record of evidence to present to the student/parents, and to make the student reflect on their behaviour and its effects/consequences on themselves and their peers.
Citizenship and Equality Worksheets

Citizenship and Equality Worksheets

(6)
Worksheet on equality and diversity challenges stereotypes and gets students to discuss negative perceptions and prejudice. Citizenship worksheet encourages students to discuss what they think makes a good citizen and to think of celebrities that they think are examples of good citizens. Great for speaking and listening and PSHE lessons.
