Japanese Multiplication Flipchart and Activities

This is a short 'toolbox' lesson that teaches students a way to do multiplication that doesn't require a calculator or having multiplication tables memorized. I have taught this strategy to students for years from severe to moderate needs students but also more neuro-typical ones. I hope you enjoy it! This resource includes a Promethean flipchart (including animated GIFs, differentiated learning outcomes, board work examples), a pre-assessment, and a post-assessment.

Multiplying and Dividing Workbook (E2-E3 UK)

This workbook introduces the topics of multiplication and division and takes into account learners that are coping with learning difficulties and disabilities. The questions and situations are colourful and contextualised to assist with engagement. At 21 pages in length and 7 activities, this would stretch over a few lessons or be an acceptable homework assignment. My learners always enjoy this workbook and I find it is a good way to start the year and gauge previously learned knowledge. Enjoy!

This presentation (including embedded hyperlinks and worksheets) is a multi-week project where students will apply their knowledge of rounding and estimating numbers and then processing that data via various graphing methods. My students had a lot of fun with this and were always eager for the next session. I hope yours feel the same! Promethean/ActivInspire software is required for this file.

This is a workbook that your students can complete as they cut and eat mini pizzas that they have made. This is an easily amendable workbook that is applicable for many different grades and levels of ability. At the end of the workbook, there is also a short survey slip, so that you can gather data on your student's satisfaction of the lesson. My kids loved it! I hope yours do too!
