Lesson plan and power point. Pupils should have an understanding of particle theory and the movement of thermal energy. This lesson is designed for a top set year 8 but is adaptable for lower sets. Requires ice cubes, lamp, wooden block, metal block, trough of water, hot water, cold water and red and blue food colouring for practical demo. Demo is followed by an explanation by class teacher using the images provided in the powerpoint.
