A Level Psychology Independent Learning Task Booklet (Thinking Ladder)

A Level Psychology Independent Learning Task Booklet (Thinking Ladder)

A booklet of independent tasks that students can apply to any topic. The tasks are created in line with the blooms taxomony skills but also the Assessment Objectives for the A Level Psychology course. Students use the booklet in their independent study time to complete tasks of their choice on a topic of their choice. A useful way to structure independent study in the 6th form - particularly for those students who do not ‘know what to do’ with their free time. Students can bring evidence to the teacher and the teacher can provide a reward as an incentive to make more productive use of their independent study time.

Thinking Ladder Display and Tasks (Differentiation Tool, Non Subject Specific)

This could be used for any secondary subject/age. However, I have developed this for Psychology/Sociology. It’s based on different levels of thinking and skills for differentiate or stretch and challenge. I have a thinking ladder in my classroom with pockets for tasks relating to the different skills. Students pick a skill from the ladder and then choose a task to complete based on their learning in the lesson. Could be use as an extension or plenary. There is an incentive for students to push themselves in the form of a tracker.

Jenga Jargon Revision Psychology

A revision game suitable for any subject or age. You just need a set of blocks which are numbered. Students individually or in groups take it in turns to take a block from the tower. They must answer the Q behind the corresponding number to get a point for their team. The team with the highest number of points at the end wins. If at any point the tower is knocked down, the team who removed the block has all of their points wiped out.
