Give each member of the class a copy of key words, they have to find definitions and learn. At start of next lesson read out definitions and they write down the key word.

a class it project, where pupils are divided into groups and given sub projects. They research and produce a project, which then then present back to the class - who assess each other.

This work can be done either as an extended h/w or class project as you go through the topic. The idea is that at the end of the topic the pupils have a self made revision resource. the idea is to produce an analysis booklet with anion and cation tests, which can be used in an 'unknown compound' practical assessment lesson. I have also attached a quality marking scheme.
