Pictures and information on rattlesnakes followed by questions. I found some youtube footage of rattlesnakes and we looked at this first and had a great discussion on snakebites, first aid, taking care when walking on the moors (boots etc). We also discussed the types of snakes found in the UK and looked at pictures of these. This worksheet was the foundation of a really awesome lesson where the children were totally enthralled by the topic. (Year5 - when I did supply cover for the teacher)

I have used this worksheet as part of a theme we did on Norway. It became a vocabulary builder, grammar builder - nouns and proper nouns - names of seas and countries. It was then introduced in geography as a mapwork lesson.

Find all the word that end in HAPPY Y and underline them. Trace of the HAPPY Y in red. Read the sentences. If the sentence is read correctly tick it. If it is not, identify the misread words and coach them. Read the sentence again. When all sentences are read correctly then find the underlined HAPPY Y words in the word search.
