The first set of activities I designed for my year 4 class who do 'reading response.&' This means after / during reading a book they take on one of the following tasks.

Newspaper Headlines Homework. Useful activity to set fro homework when doing this topic.

We gave our classes a homework project based around finding about an animal of their choice. These sheets were given out once a week to help guide them with 'how to write a homework project.&' They can obviously be adapted. Extract..... &';So far you have... -Gathered together resources -Made a title page -Decided on sections to split your project into and made brief notes. -Written the introduction and ‘where they live.’ -Written about what they look like -Written about what they eat / how they hunt' If you find the resource useful please comment or rate.

Can be used in a variety of subjects. What I know, what I want to know and what I have learned.

A nice activity for children to think about designing their own robot.

Simple self assessment for play-script features

A one page version of the 3 little pigs text I have used in year 3.

A good notebook file I made to use in a lesson teaching about writing adventure and mystery stories.

Can be used as a creative writing opportunity.

Personally made Powerpoint. Points out the features of play scripts

Smart notebook file aimed at demonstrating how to improve sentences through expansion (can be used as a time filler.)

Can be either used as an eye witness account in Newspaper topic (or) a simple character description.

A prompt I made than can be used in a variety of ways for children to describe a 'new world&' / alien world.

A homework children could do to raise the profile of reading and then the books discussed in class.

Finding out about volcanoes questions, can be used as research questions for the Internet.
