This assembly looks at how Tanni Gray Thompson didn't let her disability stop her achieving Olympic goal. It looks at the theme of determination as well as touching on the need for an inclusive society.

The CPD session looks at 'blockers' to differentiation, theory behind differentiation and then how we plan, deliver & assess for different students using the three P's - Presentation, Process & Product

The theme of the assembly is to look at kindness in war – how in any situations of war, both sides think they are right. We can look back at World War 1 now and realise that everyone was just fighting for what they believed to be true. Within these horrible situations of war, kindness is still evident. Link back to football matches during the Christmases of 1914 & 1915. The assembly starts with a comparison of then to now. It then looks at some examples from the war in Gallipoli of kindness in a horrible situation. You may want to play the Gallipoli song, ‘ Waltzing Matilda’ as the students enter. Kindness starts with the way we treat each and every human being we meet. If we cannot be kind today, when we have peace and democracy, what does that say about us as human beings?

A series of five tutor sessions which look at different types of mortgages, what bills you will have to pay and other out goings such as phones and gym. It looks at tax and how much money students will have to earn to afford the lifestyle they want. Lots of calculations as you go! For a ‘dry’ topic, this is an interesting set of activities and important for students to know as we all had no idea when we left school about tax, mortgages and bills!

Works for any subject. Have 'stations' around the room. Fold the 'title' of revision activity in half so each station is labelled. Then each handout gives different guidance on how to complete that particular revision activity. All you need for resources is A3 for the mind maps, colours and revision cards. It gives detailed advice on how to complete such activities as active reading (i.e. not just passivly reading or copying notes).
