Pupils discuss the topic "A Perfect World" before learning about Utopias, like Plato's "The Republic" and its organisation. PPT includes contextual information about Atwood's inspiration for the novel. Pupils to read and discuss chapter 1 of the novel, find quotes relevant to key issues raised by the text and plan an essay on the contrasting times presented in this section of the novel.
