Product and Sum of Fractions

Product and Sum of Fractions

(0)
Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two fractions and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one fraction from the middle and either the sum or the product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing fraction from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two fractions from the middle are. This is very challenging and students can either use trial and error or a more rigorous algebraic method depending on their ability. Students who have mastered simultaneous equations should be able to approach this.

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two decimals and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one middle number and either their sum or product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing number from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two numbers from the middle are. This provides good practice for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing with decimals.

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two whole numbers and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one middle number and either their sum or product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing number from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two numbers from the middle are. This is a nice way to lead onto factorising quadratics.

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two numbers (one being a power of 10) and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one middle number and either their sum or product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing number from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two numbers from the middle are. This provides good practice for adding and subtracting with decimals and multiplying and dividing by powers of 10.

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two numbers in standard form and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one middle number and either their sum or product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing number from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two numbers from the middle are. This provides good practice for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing numbers written in standard form.

In the Red section, students are given two mixed number fractions and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one mixed number fraction from the middle and either the sum or the product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing fraction from the middle. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two mixed number fractions from the middle are. This is very challenging and students can either use trial and error or a more rigorous algebraic method depending on their ability. Product and Sum of Surds

(0)
Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two surds and have to add them to fill in the top answer and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer. In the Amber section, students are given just one surd from the middle and either the sum or the product meaning they will have to subtract or divide to find the missing surds from the middle. This gives students practice rationalising the denominator. In the Green section, students are given just the sum and the product and have to determine what the two surds from the middle are. This is quite challenging but the students can find solutions using trial and error, thinking of two coefficients that add to give the coefficient in the sum (the surd part is the same in each question) and seeing if that makes the correct product at the bottom.
Product and Sum of Expressions 2
elasticmathselasticmaths

Product and Sum of Expressions 2

Product and Sum worksheets are easily accessible, engaging, help improve problem solving skills and build resilience. In the Red section, students are given two expressions and have to add them to fill in the top answer (adding expressions) and multiply them to fill in the bottom answer (expanding double brackets). In the Amber section, students are given just one of the expressions and the sum of the two expressions. They must subtract the expressions to find the missing middle expression and expand to find the botton expression. In the Green section, students are given limited information about the products and sums and must fill in the missing sections. This will provide a good level of challenge for students who are looking to master their algebra skills.
Product and Sum of Expressions 3

Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions Worksheet

(1)
Fractions greater than one can be given as mixed numbers or improper fractions (where the numerator is larger than the denominator). With just numbers, some students find it difficult to see the relationship between the two. This popular worksheet uses pictures to help students write fractions as mixed numbers and improper fractions and allows them to formulate their own rules for how to convert from one to the other. Suitable for KS2 and KS3. Helpful for Maths GCSE Foundation revision for low ability Year 11 groups.
