Unit of work to aid the teaching of “The First Flight”- focusing on the Wright Brothers and how they invented the first powered airplane in 1903. It also covers how they influenced the development of aircraft until present day.

These 2 PowerPoints are intended for Year 1/2 History topic on Homes. PPT 1 is about different types of homes with labels. PPT 2 shows “spot the difference” between old and new homes and artefacts. It makes comparisons between, eg, old toilet/new toilet etc. It has an animated front cover which you can activate by clicking the play button on the image before putting it onto slide show mode. They can be used as an introduction to the topic and as reinforcements to knowledge.

This PPT is a 10 week unit of work, complete with worksheets for each lesson. It looks at the industrial revolution, James Watt, George Stephenson and how transport has improved, following the invention of the steam engine. There is also a look at Birmingham New Street Station and how it has changed over the years. Suitable for year 2 plus.
