I designed this resource to help with KS3 (and to an extent KS4) writing tasks. It is especially aimed at boys to aid them by giving them sentence starters and key words to keep them focused and on task. There are also “super” phrases to stretch the most able. Therefore, this activity is also differentiated. I have created the template in Publisher so just print them out on card (ideally in colour) and allow the pupils to keep them in their books for homework tasks and extended writing in class, or keep them safe yourself and hand them out during lessons when you are planning writing activities. Please leave me a rating and a comment!

This worksheet was designed to help my students increase the length of sentences that they could write. I included some modal verbs such as ‘can’ and ‘must’ as well as locations and people that they could say they did the activity with. I had to do some work on word order first and it follows that well. Please leave me a rating!
