Yr 7 Egypt Creation Story (with a twist) Literacy & History Activity

(0)
Egyptian creation story activity. Print pages 1-4 two pages into one. Pages 1-2 half per student. Pages 3-4 both sides to each student. Give out the word list part first and have students fill it in. Then give them pages 3-4 to fill out their story. Read the 2nd part by guided reading for meaning using 'super 6' strategies. Students then complete the questions to demonstrate their understanding. Fun and engaging.

Teacher's Diary, Class Rolls and Daybook Templates print as instructed for a semester of records

(0)
These files make up a teacher's diary/class rolls/daybook (and the information pages are easier to read than the commercial diaries available). Fully editable so you can adjust to your own needs. *Cover pages- edit to add your school & teacher details + school bell times, conduct annotation codes & print 2-sided. *Class rolls, grades and merits for a 20 week semester- print 2 sided as is and it will open with a whole term to a double page. Print one set for each class. *Daybook lesson outlines/daily lesson record- designed for a 6 period day, but can be adjusted to your needs. If you print it as is 2-sided, it will print a whole 20 week semester and open with a week to a double sided page. *Addendum 5/2/17- now an additional document has been added for a Termly/Weekly planning template- use to record important upcoming events & meetings. Print these pages, use a hole punch and put into a folder and you will have a professional teacher's diary with no cost (other than the cost of printing the pages) and can tailor it to your needs and add more pages as needed- way better than the commercial teacher diaries which cost at least $20-$30! If you appreciate this saving, consider checking out some of my premium resources and spending just a small amount of your savings to buy a resource to help me pay for resources I buy here on TES (for example a whole comprehensive unit on Shogun Japan at https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/depth-study-asia-and-the-pacific-world-shogun-japan-whole-unit-of-work-parts-1-and-2-bundle-11492921) . Feedback is also appreciated. All the best for the year ahead! As another free bonus, you can also download my book marking checklist and student handout to explain expectations to provide to students to make the requirement of student's best/high expectations clear by downloading this at https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/book-work-marking-checklists-11321460 for free.

A 'formula' for assessing the reliability or usefulness of historical sources. Generic/useful for students of History in stages 5 and 6. Could be used as a tutorial with practice using sources. Could also be used as a classroom poster.

Positive Message Project

(0)
A simple idea but one that can lead to several lessons of solid collaborative work from students as they plan and create a video or other presentation with a positive message- great as an end of term project; could be adapted to almost any subject but Geography, History and English are obvious ones for this.

How were the pyramids built? Great Pyramid Giza

(1)
Worksheet with a link to a related video that explores a very plausible theory about how the Great Pyramid of Giza might have been built and examines the related evidence. https://youtu.be/d83mn1yxCHc (52 minutes) “The Great Pyramid of Egypt New Evidence.” NOTE- link current at time of posting but if you Google this name you will still find the video if the link moves.
