Solar System Fact Sheet

(2)
This resource contains a table (teacher version and cloze exercise) with facts about planets in our solar system. Students can either research the missing information or a teacher-led discussion could help to complete the answers. Additional uses for this resource could be the basis of a larger research project or investigation, a comparison between planets or a method of discovering patterns in the planet properties. A further use could be to incorporate this table as part of a data analysis task. Due to the wide range of uses this worksheet could be used for all Years in Key Stage 3.
Forces worksheets

Resistors card sort activity

(1)
Designed for GCSE Physics students, this card sort is a matching activity for combinations of resistors. Cards contain 24 different combinations of resistors in series and parallel for students to match up with the correct answers. This can be used as a starter, plenary or within the lesson itself as an alternative, or introduction to calculations involving resistors. The full set could be used with small groups, or a set could be split with a smaller number of cards available for individual students. There is also the opportunity to differentiate for higher and lower ability students.
Worksheets on Measurements
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Worksheets on Measurements

(1)

Physics Bingo Energy Electricity & Motion

(1)
Designed as a revision activity for GCSE Physics, these 4x4 bingo cards are easily printed and laminated to produce a class/group activity. The topics included are: * energy types and generation * electrical circuits and safety * forces & speed
Types of Radiation card sort for GCSE Physics
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Types of Radiation card sort for GCSE Physics

(0)
Designed for GCSE Physics students, this card sort is a matching activity for types of radiation and their properties. There are 3 cards for alpha, beta and gamma radiation with 21 property cards (an additional 4 cards for lower ability students). This can be used as a starter, plenary or within the lesson as a teaching tool. It could also be used as a revision exercise. The full set could be used with small groups or individuals. In addition, the second PowerPoint contains instructions and tables (blank and with answers) which could help guide students, or allow them to use the cards independently. The Word document contains blank version of both tables which students can complete as an additional exercise.
Space research worksheet
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Space research worksheet

(0)
Designed for students in Key Stage 3 this worksheet includes five specific questions for students to answer (either as research or from content learned in lessons) on the Big Bang theory, satellites and telescopes. The second half of this sheet is a research task where students (either individually or in groups) should investigate two of the five named telescopes.

Energy Revision
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Energy Revision

(0)
Designed for use with Key Stage 3 and 4, these revision hexagons can be laminated and cut to provide a revision activity, either for individuals or groups. Hexagons contain terms on energy types, resources and other key terms from this topic.
Waves Revision activity - hexagons
gemmacraig5gemmacraig5

Waves Revision activity - hexagons

(0)
Designed for use with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, this activity includes over 50 hexagons on waves, their properties, the electromagnetic spectrum and its uses and dangers. There are also some blank hexagons for use by staff or students. This activity is great for both individual students and groups to revise a topic, as a plenary to introduce a topic and assess current knowledge or as a method for structuring extended answers. It allows students to not only recall information, but also to see links within the topic.
