This is developed for sociology but with minor alterations could be used elsewhere in the curriculum. This is an end of unit lesson on adoption studies to go with the biological approach specifically: The environment of adoptive children is not the same as that of their biological families They have genes in common. Can be used to assess the extent to which behaviours such as aggression are the result of nature (genes) or nurture (environmental influences). This is done by comparing the children to their biological parent and their adoptive parent. If the children are more similar to their biological parents this supports nature. If they are more similar to their adoptive parents this supports nurture
