AQA GCSE PHYSICS / TRILOGY Mastery Booklets for the 8 Teaching Topics

(42)
I have put together ‘mastery booklets’ that can be used for independent study for pupils to use after a section of the course has been covered. They are designed (with past paper questions and the answers) for the students to complete themselves. This is to help them gain a deeper knowledge without impacting on teacher workload. All the teacher needs to do is record when the students have completed and annotated the booklet. I have split the 8 sections into the topics for the paper 1 and the paper 2 - the 8th booklet is just topics for students taking GCSE Physics. These could be used for cover work and revision before the exams. Hope they’re useful, if they are please leave a positive review. Harret

Science GCSE 6 Mark Question (6MQ) Writing Frames PowerPoint

(0)
This resource has 9 6 mark questions to help with the notoriously bad sucess students have with these questions There are 3 biology examples - photosynthesis, reflex arc and food tests. There are 3 chemistry examples - copper sulphate salts, LCA evaluation and rusting. There are 3 physics examples - density, resistance in a wire and refraction. The PowerPoint has a generic section about how to complete a 6 marker, glossary and then each example has a student sheet and the powerpoint has hints to help write them and then the mark scheme. The PP is fully interactive and you can navigate through the PP with ease with movement keys.

AQA GCSE Science (Chemistry Aspect) Required Practical Tracker Bundle

(2)
I have put together a complete system of resources that will allow staff to easily record and monitor the required practical aspect of the new GCSE science that is replacing the old ISA coursework. The resources include Whole Class Practical Tracker, Pupil Cover Sheets for Each of the Practicals (8 required practical sheets) and an 'On-The-Day' Practical sheets (again one for each of the 8 Chemistry practicals), for the teacher to use in class during the practical to record the Apparatus and Technique (AT) skills that each pupil has to be competent with in Chemistry. This bundle covers the 8 required Chemistry practicals for the Combined Science and Chemistry GCSE's All of the resources compliment each other, use the key coding for assessment to reduce workload and make things easy. I have mirrored the A'Level AQA Practical Assessment for the AQA GCSE, it just seemed logical so that the systems are similar. I have bundled these resources so that it is more cost efficient. If you wish to see how the bundle works and see some screenshots then the instructions are a free download on my page. Enjoy.

GCSE PHYSICS - Learning the ELECTRICITY Equations

(1)
Since the declaration that GCSE Science pupils wont be able to use equations sheets in future exams, I have been thinking of a system that will help them learn the equations and help staff in facilitating that learning. I have devised this. It is supposed to be used as a starter / plenary for pupils to go over and over and try to implant the equations over time. I will use it in every lesson, parrot fashion for success! This is not board specific as they all will need to learn them, and can be used for the current legacy GCSE students too as a revision resource. This PowerPoint has questions for the Electricity equations - on Units Questions, Resistance (R=V/I), Power (P=E/t), More Power (P=IV), Even More Power (P=I^2 R), and Electrical Energy (E=VQ). A demo of this which shows the Resistance questions is available for free in my store. There is another demo and full PowerPoint on Energy Equations on my page. I have used the template for my ABCD cards for this endeavour, but you don't need those to utilise these PowerPoints. Enjoy.

Physics A' Level Assessed Practical Cover Sheets (Pracs 1 to 12)

These are the PHYSICS Assessed/Required Practical student cover sheets that describe which AT (assessment techniques) that will be assessed for each practical. The grading criteria is the one that is used in the official AQA Physics tracker and my own improved tracker that is based on the AQA tracker (you can download it free from my page). The sheets are generic and in Word format so that you can amend or add your school crest on if needs be.

10 Logic Puzzles (with answers)

(0)
Here are 10 logic puzzles that can be used in science or maths. They can be used as starters, plenaries or homework. The idea was for them to be used to get the students to think logically and work through to see the process in a fun way. The snooker ball may need to be explained to some students as they might not know the values of the coloured balls.

Enhanced ABCD Traffic Light Cards With Template Power Point

These are traffic light cards designed by myself as ever other ones I could find were not good enough. These were originally for science but can be used for any subject. I have attached the template PowerPoint which can be used with these. I have a set of 30 made and laminated that are a superb resource for starters, plenaries and in class assessment to show progress in the lesson. I have set it up fot 10 questions, but you can add more easily. The two sheets are supposed to be printed back to back so that the colours match on both sides.

I will use it in every lesson, parrot fashion for success! This is not board specific as they all will need to learn them, and can be used for the current legacy GCSE students too as a revision resource. This PowerPoint has 10 multiple choice questions on each of the following aspects, SI UNITS, Kinetic Energy, Power, Gravitational Potential Energy, Efficiency and Specific Heat Capacity. The PowerPoint is interactive and not linear so you can jump to any sets of questions from the home page and do them in any order. If you would like to have a look at what it looks like there is a free demo that just has the SI questions. These take some time to make, but I will group the other equations together as I have for the energy equations. I have used the template for my ABCD cards for this endeavour, but you don't need those to utilise these PowerPoints. Be patient, I'm going as fast as I can. Enjoy. *If the person who bought the previous version (without the Specific Heat Capacity) leaves a comment with their e-mail, I will send you this newest version)

Formative Assessment Analysis & Mail Merge Report Generator

(0)
I have created an assessment analysis tool that can be used for any test up to 20 questions in length. The Excel sheet is primarily designed for science but could be redesigned for other subjects. A sheet is used to enter the year, title, question type, question marks and question description. The % at which levels are given can be changed to suit the year, assessment test in question. All of these will be used to generate a report. The report will have individual information about a students progress in the test. The data generated will be - Total, %, Residual, Level (9-1), Levels of Progress and Progress label. Depending on how well students did for individual questions, the report will highlight which areas (where a student achieved 50% or less of the marks available) students need work on to get them to standard. The test is broken down into the individual science aspects so that staff, pupils and parents can be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of individuals so that areas can be addressed where the standard is below what is expected. TO SEE WITHOUT PAYING - you can download the instructions. I have attached the instructions for the sheet that shows how the sheet works and examples of the generated Mail Merge report. This sheet will not only inform staff, pupils and parents but save time for the staff and be an invaluable tool in identifying areas to help pupils reach their targets.

This AQA Additional Paper Analysis Tool will collate the 'mock' results and using the actual grade boundaries will give a grade for a) the whole paper, b) individual grades for the Biology, Chemistry and Physics aspects and c) will show the levels of progress the student has made. This has been invaluable as a monitoring and intervention tool to target individuals and classes that are falling behind. The screen shots to see how this looks when populated can be downloaded free from my page.

The GCSE PHYSICS Speed Equations full can be found in my store. It has questions on SI Units Questions, Speed/Distance/Time (v=d/t), Acceleration (a=v/t), Force?mass?Acceleration (F=ma), Kinetic Energy (1/2 m v^2), Wavelength/Frequency (v=ƒ λ) and Momentum (p=mv) HIGHER TIER Only. I have taken the free AQA Assessed Practical tracker and have improved it. I have added the AT (Assessed Techniques) definitions and added which AT's are assessed for each practical . These marks for the AT's are collated in an overview sheet that shows how each student has performed in each assessed practical but also an overview of how they are doing for each AT. I've tested it and it seems bug free...
