I have designed this to allow children some freedom to chose which challenge they would like to complete as they arrive in the morning. The writing mat can be laminated and used alongside the power point to allow the children somewhere to record their answers. There are two slightly different styled mats depending on if you would like to concentrate on one common exception word for the day or have a display of words in your classroom. I have also included a tick chart to monitor students that may require movement breaks to support their behaviour. This chart can be used to evidence the need for 1:1 support in the classroom. To use the social story pick a page and write the child’s name under each person character. You can also provide this to the support staff at lunchtime/ break time to support the child with making the right choices on the playground.
