The syllabus is shown at the beginning so students can tick off each stage of the specification as you teach it. This power point is a nice introduction to the OCR Gateway Drugs unit about the effects of smoking on the body. It shows the carcinogens found in cigarettes and how they affect the body. Gruesome pictures will make the students think about the problems - beware squeamish students.

These power points were made for my KS3 students but I also used it with my GCSE foundation students to help them understand how to draw a correct scientific Table and when to use a bar graph and when to use a line graph. It also explains the difference between independent and dependent variables. These power points explains how to compose a Good Table (headings, columns, anomalies, averages) and how to plot the correct graph. It concentrates on bar graphs and line graphs, independent and dependent variables. Actual examples shown and finishes with a task for the students as a plenary. Also included are help sheets for table and graph drawing which can be stuck in the front of students books as a reminder. (I print both and print as A5 help sheets.
