This is a bundle of lessons on the topic of geography or rural areas in a developed country as part of the Scottish National Curriculum. Includes practice of exam questions for the National 5 exam.
Included in this bundle is 7 full lessons with resources for the Tropical Rainforests unit for the new AQA GCSE specification. Each lesson is designed with differentiated tasks following a "good, better, best" style along with challenges to stretch the most able. Lessons also work to get students accustomed to writing exam-style answers to questions as a reflection of their learning. I hope these lessons help out those of us teaching the new AQA GCSE spec and that you and your students enjoy the activities!
The third of three lessons on ecosystems for the new AQA GCSE specification. This lesson covers the distribution of global ecosystems.
This bundle consists of 6 lessons and an assessment on coasts for the new AQA GCSE specification. Created and taught between Jan-Feb 2017.
Lesson 1/7 on Tropical Rainforests for the new AQA GCSE specification. This lesson covers the location and climate of tropical rainforests.
This lesson covers the transportation processes that occur in the Middle course and looks at the formation of meanders. For this lesson there is a hands on activity that requires students to look at 3 different sized "particles" that they have to determine how they move. I used balloons, small tennis balls and balls of play-doh all acquired from the pound shop. You could also use other materials. Students also complete this task while listening to the song Proud Mary because, well, rolling on the river. Enjoy the pun!
The second lesson in a series of 3 on ecosystems for the new AQA GCSE Specification. This lesson covers an example of a small scale ecosystem which is Epping Forest in London.
