A simple activity of rolling the dice and then writing the common exception word that the dice number shows. There are two versions available: 1 - cursive version 2 - non cursive There are individual mats available as well as in one set for ease of printing back to back. Ideal for laminating and having access to for those early finishers.

Phonics games based on sounds children will learn. There is a combination of real and alien words for each game. Starting with the vowel digraphs. There are two versions, one is a dyslexia friendly font and the other is a cursive font. To help a child with additional needs, I created some flashcards for them to use instead of the ones provided. This is a ten day plan for the book The Bear and the Piano. My class really enjoyed the book and I got fantastic writing results. Included in the resource are my plans, worksheets and presentations. They are in word and pdf and notebooks have been converted to power points too. This is planned for a year 2 class but can be adapted to suit other classes.

Year 1 and 2 unit on poetry based on the popular book, Commotion in the Ocean. My class have loved this poetry unit and it linked into their topic work of Under the Sea.

A collection of reading intervention booklets that children can use to encourage reading. There are a selection of booklets included. They are in word and can be edited to suit the needs of your own class.

These common exception word lists have been created so that they fit inside word books 8 inches by 4 inches. As a teacher I have places year 1 words at the front of the book and year 2 words at the back for year 1s and vice versa for year 2. When children refer to spellings we can show them where to find them.

Bingo games for a small intervention group. Struggling with initial sounds and so a simple bingo game to help excite and engage the children into reading. 6 boards for each sound. The font is sassoon and the games are a pdf so it keeps format.

My class loved this book and we achieved 6 fantastic weeks of learning! They loved the fact that we didn't read the whole book and it took 4 weeks to do this! It opened up a fantastic amount of learning and the book allowed for lots of SPaG work.

My class developed a love of Winnie the Witch and so I created these plans to fuel their learning. They loved every moment of this topic and we were able to include the use of imperative verbs into our learning. The children loved the idea of creating their own spells and potions. Year 1 class written for but can be used in reception or year 2. Great ideas can be linked to forest school experiences too!

A great book to use which helps children understand time and number. A total of 15 lesson with accompanying activities and posters to help. The children loved the book especially as we read a page a day!

In preparation for the year 1 phonics test, I created these for my class to become familiar with words that sound the same but have different spelling patterns. There are 8 games in total.

A unit of lessons based on the traditional tale Jack and the Beanstalk and then follow up lessons based on Jim and the Beanstalk. Total of 14/16 lessons as some lessons take longer than others. Such as the story writing parts.

My children struggled with the structure of the phonics books and so I have compiled a selection of books that follow the principle of the phonic screening checks. My class love them and they are much more familiar with the phonic check then previously.

I was finding that my children were struggling with the concept of the phonics booklets for the year 1 test. I therefore created a set of 8 booklets for the children to use as practice for the real thing! They have loved the booklets and enjoyed challenging themselves as there are some tricky words in there. I have also included in some of them year 1 common exception words.
