KS3 Music Appreciation (High Quality Home Learning) - 3 Lessons (Elements Part 1, Orchestra & Folk)

Check out my website: www.jamesgriffinmusic.com This resource pack has been designed for KS3 Music Home Learning, however all documents can have minor edits made to them to turn them into classroom lessons. The scheme is titled ‘Music Appreciation’ and is designed to take students on a learning journey through lots of different styles of music, ultimately preparing them for the knowledge based component of any GCSE Music course. Each lesson includes: Presentation and Worksheet in PDF format and Google Drive format. If you wish to edit the documents, you must use Google Docs and Slides. Lesson One - The Elements of Music - Part 1 Students will revise the names of the 8 main elements of music and then study in depth: Tempo, Dynamics, Rhythm and Timbre. Questions are made engaging through lots of listening examples available and all vocabularly is relevant to GCSE Music. I will be releasing Part 2 in my next upload. Lesson Two - Instruments of the Orchestra Students will learn about the four categories of instruments in the orchestra as well as the history of the orchestra and how it has transformed between the Baroque and Modern period. Lesson Three - Folk Music A fun lesson where students will look at three types of folk music in depth, Welsh, Irish and Scottish! Packed with lots of listening examples and differentiated questioning, this is a great insight to a world of music many students will not yet be familiar with.
