Here you have a 50 slide functionals skills maths revision bingo game. There are 45 slides which each have a question and an answer. Question is displayed then the answer will show on the next click of the mouse. There are also 4 slides which contains answer grids. These are designed as bingo boards and have 9 answers on them. Only 2 of them are winning grids. The ones with the answer HMW on them are the winning grids. All the other slides have 1 red herring which is an answer not present on the powerpoint. The winning slide is at the end you can easily shorten the game by moving the winning slides to earlier on. It is a mixture of L1 and L2 questions. Questions include, fractions, percentages, converting fractions to percentages, calculation with money and time, mean,median,mode and range, scale, percentage and fraction discounts, area,perimeter and volume, pie charts,probability,imperial to metric, currency conversion, substitute into formula. Here is a revision task I write to use with my adult groups during revision sessions. They are designed to be completed as independent revision tasks. They are 4 pages long and include the following: Calculate the weight of the clothes - Convert within metric (grams to KG) and Imperial to metric for L2. Work out the amount you will get from the clothes. Work out mean and range of sales (includes median and mode for L2) Draw a table (L1) and a bar chart (L1 and L2) Work out the percentage of days sales were over a certain number. Answers included. This a fun consolidation or revision activity for fractions. Students practice add, subtract and converting between, proper, improper, and mixed fractions to get to the target. Also great for practice with equivalent fractions. There are 10 puzzles in total, 1 page each with space for workings. 4 are easy, 4 medium and 2 more difficult really good for building fluency. You can also add to the challenge by playing music/having a timer set or split the class and play against each other in teams. This is a template for a colourful engaging ice-breaker ball. Simply print on card stock in colour and stick together for your own ice-breaker ball. Multitude of uses. I use for the 1st lesson with each group - throw the ball to a member of your group and ask them to choose a question then pass the ball on. Alternatively, pass the ‘ball’ around play some music and randomly stop it (like pass the parcel). I have also included a blank template so you could ask your group to make up their own questions, possibly in 2 teams then put together the dice. I have also added the marshmallow challenge hand-out. I have designed these hand-outs to be printed on A4 and laminated. Also added lesson plan and PPT for functional skills maths first lesson of the new term.

This is a workbook that covers drawing single and double bar charts, Line graphs, scatter graphs and pie charts. It is covers each topic briefly and is good for a revision session or for more able learners as a refresh session. Looks at drawing each of the stated and some interpreting such as using a line of best fit to make predictions. I made this for my revision sessions for functional skills but could also be good to give as homework for GCSE foundation learners. Functional skills maths level 2 revision. Practice paper. So you want to go to Florida. Task one and Two: Plan the cost of the trip, extract information from tables and calculate average cost for flights. Work out visa costs including % discounts and convert currency £ to $ see how much you need to take. Task Three: Use the park map and work out the distance between your favourite rides using the stated scale. The work out the tie it will take you to get round the park and convert between Km and miles to figure out our speed then put all the information in a timetable and show a timeline of your day. Extension activity included working out how long you would need to work for to pay for the trip. Very engaging activity my learners really enjoy this paper. One worked solution included although there are more than one correct solutions - my students are always surprising me! As with all my resources WORD document.

This is a example paper covering many aspects of functional skills maths level 2. All in a problem solving context. Great for revision. Very good feedback from colleagues and learners. Task one: Decide if you should sell your famous picture to the local historian or maybe list it on bobble. Will you make enough money to go on your holiday? Use knowledge of fractions and percentages, metric conversions and imperial conversions, interpret information from a table including being careful of rounding. Draw a table of what was found and draw conclusions. Task two: Work with area and volume, more converting and interpret a scale drawing. Work out the volume of a cone and see if you have enough space in your garage. There are 2 different versions included the first one has an easier scale drawing and focuses on interpretation rather than drawing the second is almost the same but the section 2 requires drawing of the scale plan. Great for differentiation. Task three: Work out bonuses for a firm and decide how much each person will earn, choose between averages and say why median is the most appropriate. Make comments about the range and then draw a pie chart. Checking of calculations throughout. 12 pages long really good practice for the exam. Have now also included answers

This is a booklet which covers L2 functional skills topics. My exam board is C&G but also useful for others. Each page includes a question for each topic, a hyperlink to a basic lesson which can be used by learners at home. The same content is accessible by the QR code on each page. Videos and online activities included. At the bottom of each page is an area to write notes and record real life uses and their own worked example along with space for tutor feedback. There is a contents page and a feedback sheet included at the end. Along with a tracking sheet for mock papers. Recommended to print in A5 booklet form. A huge variety of uses… learners complete a page at the end of a lesson for homework. Could be used as a revision workbook by completing the questions and allows learners to see which areas they are still getting wrong to target areas for revision. Also great to monitor progress or as a diagnostic tool at the start of the year.

There is an explanation then progressively more difficult examples and a cross-number. A snakes and ladders game and a challenge section. Includes all answers a revision grid covering multiple topics covered already in the year. The second booklet (20 pages) is suitable for level 2 learners and covers converting between imperial and metric units.
