Self Esteem and Aspiration building workshop / sessions for girls KS2-3

A workshop designed for girls aged 7-13 that focuses on building learning confidence and self belief with the aim of raising aspirations. Can be delivered over 4 hourly session or as an off timetable workshop. Requires the facilitator to provide short individual feedback to the girls as they progress through the activities so a staff:pupil ratio of no more than 1:10 is recommended. Can be delivered by Teaching Assistants or Youth Workers as well as teachers.

This lesson was designed as part of a unit on peer pressure and the psychology of adolescence for Year 8-9. It served to be very empowering for the hundreds of young people who took part in the lesson over the last few years - it allowed them to reflect on their own peer pressure troubles and identity crises as well as start to contextualise their mood swings and insecurities.

Mediation skills and process is an important aspect of the lessons and the time to practice new skills. This pack contains lesson plans, power point presentations to guide the class through and various resources / worksheets that a teacher can use or adapt to ensure a bespoke approach to this topic for each class / age group. * please note the lesson plans start at lesson 19 as this mini unit was part of a wider course and started at lesson 19 - there are not 18 lessons missing - lesson 1-18 are for sale in my shop as 'Intro to Citizenship' and 'All about me' units

This unit of 12 lessons compliment the transition stage of KS2-3 and can be delivered to Y5 - Y7. Covering topics around the emerging 'self' of the adolescent as they move into the Secondary phase with increased responsibilities and more complex relationships and beliefs. This lesson guides pupils through critically evaluating a Facebook profile with safety in mind. Pupils traffic light the information on the page and bring this to whole class discussion. Ofsted saw this lesson and judged it to be Outstanding. N.B. The Facebook profile is a made up one attached to my own email address so doesn't infringe on privacy.
