Resources to support fiction writing in KS1. Includes three story maps / planning sheets, a vocabulary card and a self / peer assessment checklist. The story maps / planning sheets can be used prior to writing a fiction story. They are suitable for both creating a story map based on a model text, or planning a story. The fiction vocabulary card can be used to support students during writing. It contains a selection of vocabulary lists enabling students to be more ambitious in their word choice when writing. Word lists are linked to areas such as characters, settings, feelings etc. The self / peer assessment checklist is useful at the editing stage. It can be used to help students easily identify areas where improvement is needed. The fiction vocabulary card can also help to support students in the editing process.
