A free sample of my WJEC Spanish GCSE role-play workbook, which has been adapted from my AQA role-play workbook (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/aqa-spanish-gcse-speaking-workbook-role-plays-11736432) There is a foundation and a higher role-play, with a student’s card, a teacher’s card and possible answers set out as a script for both role-plays.

Four games to practise personality vocab - they can be adapted for all topics and all languages, however. Battleships, Connect 4, Slap the board (vocab spread around the slide) and blockbusters. All instructions for how to play each game are in the notes below the slides.

This resource uses a text from the old specification foundation reading GCSE papers (2010). It is designed to help students with their reading and translation skills. Students read the texts, then translate in the tables underneath, then complete the task which was originally on the exam papers. The sentences are divided into bitesize chunks in the tables to enable students to read and translate more easily. This is challenging for even the Grade 7-9 students and makes them focus on vocabulary, sentence structure and creating ‘proper’ English sentences from German texts.
