This follows the RWI planning for the story book lesson. I created this as a shortened help sheet to have out in front of me to remind me what needed to be prepared before each session and so I knew what needed to be covered each session. There is one for a 3 and 4 day cycle.
World Music Day/week assembly powerpoint. Explores world music day and also introduces to children different types of musical instruments. Demonstrates that classical music is popular and wellknown and it is not always boring.
Sound and video clips added to the powerpoint to play.
Zone of Regulations display for classrooms. Suitable for all ages. They show different images and words to describe the different ‘zones’ that the children might be in. They also have a toolbox of suggestions that the children can use to to move out or into that zone.
A phonics display showing the different sound families with pictures linking to each sound to help children with choosing the right sound when spelling and writing. I use it in my Year 3 classroom to direct children to be more independent in their writing by directing them to ‘the square in the air sound’ instead of telling them how to spell a word.
15 different sounds.

Used in Year 3. Could be used for place value, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, fractions…
