Star Wars Accelerated Reader Display

Star Wars Accelerated Reader Display

(0)
This is by far my favourite display ever! I still can’t believe I created something so cute. Definitely gender neutral and my pupils love it. This is a super cute display for Accelerated Reader, which focuses on percentage rather than words read, so it’s inclusive for all. I went for a star wars theme because I wanted it to go for a sci-fi vibe. I personally like to use hessian and matte laminating pouches, but this will work on a variety of backings. There are over 40 individual parts, including the heading. This display would also work for most reading tracking displays. I’ve also added a display plan of how I envisage it to be hung, but you can experiment with what works best for your display boards. Enjoy!

Show Don't Tell Me - English Descriptive Writing

(0)
This bundle contains 29 different emotion cards, which can be made into hand-sized resources for descriptive writing. I pin my to my English working wall, as a resource for pupils to use if needed, but they would work on table tops too! Each card has eight sentences, which show an emotion rather than telling how a character feels. So rather than pupils writing: Emmy feels sad… They could utilise the resource to write: Emmy hung her head low. She took a deep, heavy breath out of her trembling lips…

Synonym Fries Interactive Display

(1)
This is a really fun interactive display, which has synonym ‘fries’ within take-away style packaging. My English Working Wall display has synonym store, which has **10 high frequency **words and its synonyms. All of the synonyms are in the form of fries, which pupils can use when they are editing their creative writing. This resources works alongside my ‘mini thesaurus’ resources, however these are more interactive and fun. They have definitely made my pupils more interested in vocab! I bought some cheap craft cardboard chip packages to place my synonym fries in. The text is cursive and written in mayo and ketchup colours! There are 119 synonym fries in total - providing my quick Maths is correct! Note: I use the synonym fries (small) for my display. I hope you and your pupils enjoy!

Printmaking L1 - Introduction to Printing (KS2 Art and Design)

(0)
This lesson is the first of six lessons introducing print-making (preferably for upper KS2). I have created this scheme using skills that I have acquired over the years, training in Print-making throughout my Fine Art degree and teaching Art and Design to KS2 for over 5 years. This has been a really popular scheme for my pupils, which teaches a variety of print-making skills: mono-printing, screen-printing, relief and collagraph (relief) printing. I’ve taught it within the classroom and an art room. It would be worth investing in screens for the screen printing lesson. Resource bundle includes: Lesson plan, Visual Language word mat, Lesson Powerpoint (PDF cursive, PPT and PPT cursive versions available - please note the powerpoints may need slight reformatting depending on your font settings) and accompanying resources/scaffolds. Each lesson includes a starter, modelling for each task, an evalution and an end of the lesson plenary. Slide one: LO: To research printing artists and evaluate their work. Slide two: Starter: What printing techniques have you tried? Slide three: Different types of printing: planar, relief, intaglio Slide four: Word mat Slide five: Self-evaluation with modelling Slide six: End of the lesson quiz Slide seven: End of the lesson quiz (answers)

Mini Thesaurus - English Resource

This resource contains 40 high frequency words, each containing 14 synonyms. They are a great visual resource for creative writing and editing. I hang mine onto my English Working Wall as cute hand-sized packs, which I ring-bind together, after laminating.
