If you have a love for the** greatest mind that ever lived**, need some activities to support teaching his story with students or simply want to celebrate his birthday on 15th April, then this pack of resources is a must. It contains a 16-question worksheet regarding Leonardo Da Vinci, an activity which requires students to name some of his paintings, a wordsearch of 30-related words (which should get some inquisitive conversations going) and of course an answer file for the questions / naming activity. You have got to try this out with your kids - they will love it! Resource 1: The Binary Pixel Art activity introduces kids to the idea of Binary numbers and gives a quick introduction of how to convert Binary numbers to decimal numbers. Kids will then need to convert simple Binary numbers to decimal numbers for 7 Halloween-themed designs to correctly colour them in. There are also 2 additional templates for kids to create their own design and coded version. Resource 2: This is a differentiated version of the above activity for kids who may find the Binary-decimal conversions too challenging. Nevertheless, they will still have some computing exposure through the understanding of computer images made from individual blocks of color, as well as ICT skills through the use of MS Excel tools. Resource 3: This is the PDF printable version of Resource 1 for use in case of device / software shortage or in case of preference. Resource 4: These are the solutions of the 7 wonderful Halloween-themed designs. You’ll enjoy them as much as Kids’ Printouts did creating them!

Anyone who loves dinosaurs will love the two wordsearches. There is a 15-dino version and a 30-dino version - use as you need to with your audience. Each one also features 5 silhouettes of popular dinosaurs for the kids to try to name. Wordsearches are a great way to reinforce key terms, enhance vocabulary, help with spelling as well as pattern recognition. They are great for the classroom, at home and events. Whether it’s because you love Roald Dahl stories, or the kids are currently reading one of his books or you want to develop some ICT skills and computing knowledge in a refreshing way, these activities will do nicely! Resource 1: A Binary Pixel Art activity which introduces kids to the idea of Binary numbers and gives a quick introduction of how to convert Binary numbers to decimal numbers. Kids will then need to convert simple Binary numbers to decimal numbers for 10 Roald Dahl-themed designs to correctly color them in. There are also 2 additional templates for kids to create their own design and coded version. Resource 2: This is a differentiated version of the above activity for kids who may find the Binary-decimal conversions too challenging. Nevertheless, they will still have some computing exposure through the understanding of computer images made from individual blocks of color, as well as ICT skills through the use of MS Excel tools. What will you be doing to commemorate this day or to educate the kids about the Gunpowder Plot? Grab the second of two bundles available and have fun with the kids. The first resource in this bundle is a wordsearch with 24 related-terms to find. The wordsearch features 3 images as well as the famous poem recited in memory of the Gunpowder Plot. The second resource in this bundle is a 16-question activity, requiring kids to carry out some research. They will surely learn a lot including Guy Fawkes not being the main culprit, as well as which British actor’s ancestor was the actual brains behind the infamous plot. The third resource in this bundle is a fun computing activity for which the kids will complete pixel art activities of the Gunpowder Plot themed pictures, but they’ll need to convert binary numbers to decimal numbers first! (Instructions are given for this.) There are also two additional worksheets for kids to create their own pixel art piece. This file is an xls file created in MS Excel. TWELVE quality wordsearch puzzles (in a zip file) based on key terms from six Roald Dahl Books: Fantastic Mr Fox; George’s Marvellous Medicine; James and the Giant Peach; Matilda; The Magic Finger; The Twits. 10-word and 30-word wordsearches for each story. (Simple differentiation / use depending on the time available.) These were used with Year / Grade 5 children when they were reading Roald Dahl stories and they thoroughly enjoyed them (and older (or younger!) children will enjoy them too.) These were used in class as a starter, to support their recollection of events in the books, as well as to reinforce spellings. They were also used with students as part of World Book Day celebrations and as part of school library sessions to promote the love of reading.
