#### Geography Comparing the UK and Africa (Physical Features and Human Features)

#### Planting a seed (Instructions)

Children will learn to sequence pictures of how to plant a seed by first sequencing pictures. They then will draw/write on a planning frame to show the pictures in order and any key words to help them write the following day using time connectives and imperative verbs. #### Subtraction by crossing out (Mathematics)

What you get: Children have tens frames with counters to help them cross out and subtract. They write the number sentence below once they have decided how many they will cross out (HA). Children have tens frames with subtraction sentences. They will draw the counters in themselves and then cross out and find the answer. Children then use that method to answer reasoning questions. HA then have an explore question where they use their crossing out method to find multiple answers to a word problem. Based on White Rose

#### Poo Investigation (Science observational skills)

Children will learn about hot and cold countries . they will look at what weather is and discuss this. Children will sort pictures out into the table for hot and cold countries. HA sheet are pictures of different countries and their flag. They will need to use an atlas to identify whether or not they are in a hot country or a cold country. Teaching PP Lesson 1- introducing children to materials. Children identify what toys are made out of and group them under the different materials. Practical activity but pictures are provided for grouping if toys are not available in the class. Lesson 2- Using their knowledge of materials, children look at waterproof/ not waterproof materials. They will conduct an investigation to find out which material is waterproof for Traction Man’s coat. Worksheet provided for the investigation.

What this includes: Questions based on White Rose for fluency, reasoning and explore questions. Children complete fluency tasks by taking away on a number line and then use the method taught to answer a reasoning question. They then go onto using the same method to explore how they could find multiple questions to the same answer.
