Writing a ratio in the form 1:n / #GoForItStarter

This resource is suitable to use with my app, GoForIt. Using the app you can transform classic questions into a fun, whole class activity. Here is a way how maths teachers use #GoForItApp for fun and interactive starters: ▸ Upload the worksheet to #GoForItApp available here to be able to display the questions on your white board. ▸ When going through the questions, use a class register together with your activity to increase student participation. Students will be more attentive to answering the question if their name is displayed. ▸ If you find that you want to amend the starter, you can do it using the PowerPoint version (it’s a really easy process - you can find more information in Helpful Tips). ▸ You can upload more than one starter activity based on a current lesson or a series of previous lessons. A variety of topics will increase students’ fluency. Start a lesson in a fun manner & calm the chaos! . . 👉 Want a deeper dive? Check my Instagram account: @theeducatorslist Or the list of topics

#KnowMyNameApp / The most effective strategy for teachers to learn student names

(1)
Hi there! It’s the first day of school. You welcome your students. You introduce yourself. Your name is on the board. Their names are not. You’ve got a lot to memorise… Or… You can use the #KnowMyNameApp. The app will help you memorise all student names even before meeting them in class, so you can easily create an instant connection! It can be a daunting prospect to memorise tens or even hundreds of names and if mistakes are made, it can lead to embarrassing hurdles in creating good working relationships. The #KnowMyNameApp is a perfect tool that streamlines the name-learning process, turning something that can be a chore into a quick, fun activity that really sticks. With the SIMS compatibility, class lists can be quickly populated by the names and faces of your learners, making the process even easier. So, don’t worry, you don’t have to spend the entire free time preparing the lists of your classes. To use the app all you need is a couple of minutes to set up everything and you’re ready to go. The #KnowMyNameApp helps to take the effort out of putting names to faces so you can get to the important stuff - like teaching! The app will help you with: ▸Learning students’ names quickly ▸Choosing a student at random Also available with the app: ▸Random student name generator ▸Timer ⓘ #KnowMyNameApp works with PDFs generated from SIMS. An example of a class register is included, so you will be able to use the app and test how it works. BODMAS / Order of operations Worksheet incl. Negative numbers & Fractions with Answers

I love search and shades worksheets. The students are able to self-check by looking for the answer in the grid. Then, they shade the areas to create a design. I use this one to practise the order of operations. It consists of 20 questions at different levels of difficulty. Besides BODMAS, your students will have to know some basic facts about adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing with negative integers and fractions. This is a great resource for students in KS3. Colouring is required and you will need a selection of 2 colours including black. . . 👉 Want a deeper dive? Types of Equations Worksheet / GCSE Level

This fun worksheet is based on a flow chart of different types of equations. It’s a great resource to revise strategies used to solve equations, starting from fractional equations, equations with brackets, equations with the unknown on the both sides and finishing with a classic two-step equation. The resource should be printed double sided and folded inside along four dotted lines (see instructions how to fold the resource). When closed, the types of four equations are visible. To see the steps how to solve one of them, you can simply unfold one of the four corners. The arrows inside indicate the direction to follow the next step. ⓘ If you prefer your students to fill in the steps, print the second version. ✔ Don’t miss out: the worksheet unable to revise useful vocabulary in algebra too!
