#### Maths pictures: starter/plenary 4 digit number dienes place value KS1 KS2

(0)
3 Pictures of dienes blocks being used to create a 4 digit number. Suitable for higher attaining KS1 children, LKS2 or lower attaining UKS2 children to learn about place value. The first two numbers are made with the dienes blocks by increasing the 'thousands'. The third number is written but has not yet been made. Importantly, there is a list of suggestions of how to use this resource to stimulate ideas and discussion at the beginning/end of a lesson. These ideas can also be adapted for use with other numbers. The pictures could be printed out and placed on tables or blown up and viewed on a smartboard/screen.

#### Henry VIII 8th problems Tudor Wives Catholic Church of England KS2 worksheet

(0)
A supportive structured worksheet to go with the 'Henry's Problems' powerpoint. (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/henry-viii-8th-problems-tudors-wives-catholic-church-of-england-ks2-11298994) This file contains a table with a summary of Henry VIII's key problems during his reign before establishing the Church of England. There are boxes for children to complete with suggestions of how they would solve the problem and what actually happened. A great resource for helping children to organise their ideas and understanding of the issues Henry faced and why the Church of England was established. The whole worksheet could be given to children or the table chopped up so the number of problems to find out about are reduced.

#### Henry VIII 8th Problems Powerpoint Tudors Wives Catholic Church of England KS2

(1)
A fun KS2 powerpoint with sound/spoken descriptions of some of the key problems faced by Henry VIII during his reign before establishing the Church of England. This has been used in year 3 and year 4 classes but could also be used in upper KS2. At the start of the presentation is a slide with a variety of ways in which the resource can be used to structure a history lesson. It can also be used with the associated worksheet (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/henry-viii-8th-problems-tudor-wives-catholic-church-of-england-ks2-worksheet-11299009) which provides a structured space for children to organise their ideas about what Henry could (and did) do to solve his problems. When I've used this in class, the children were taken by surprise by the 'voice' of Henry VIII and it helped to keep them engaged and motivated as I suggested they could try to feedback in a similar voice :-)
