All the resources I have created are specifically targeted at the new specification for Edexcel (9-1) I have followed recommendations from Active teach and the exam specification to make sure all relevant content is covered. Most are lessons within themselves and for those new to teaching may find it reassuring to know that the information the class need is often written in a simple, easy to understand format on the power points themselves.

Resource based on the edexcel 2016 spec (9-1) I have included some questions but you may need to use edexcel worksheets for this lesson. Starter: Read the information sheet and come up with Q/A for other pupils Main, information about refraction including a slightly crude animation (you could actually use a model car and some sand instead of using this), a couple of videos and some information on power points. Five questions on PowerPoint and answers followed by Edexcel worksheet Plenary they pick an exam question to answer from the final slide

Resource based on the edexcel 2016 spec (9-1) Covers a variety of exam style questions for the new CC8 topic on acids and alkali's This powerpoint contains 2 double sided revision mats of exam questions with slightly differing questions depending on ability. I would aim these at more able groups. (note although on says foundation on it my foundation groups found it a bit tricky)

Resource based on the edexcel 2016 spec (9-1). CC5,6 and 7 are relatively short topics so as a school we put them all together for an end of topic test This powerpoint contains one double sided revision mat which I used for a middle year 9 group. The forth slide contains MOST answers but a couple are missing. For the answers to the longer questions I just used a visualizer and went through how to approach longer Q's

Resource based on the edexcel 2016 spec (9-1) You do not need any of the edexcel worksheets for this lesson but they could be used in addition for homework or additional work. A practical powerpoint which can be used for two experiments for CP12c. The first is melting curves using ice and the second is how to find Specific heat capacity of water. (if you don't have joule meter then a voltmeter and ammeter can be used instead). Includes an aim, definitions task, instructions, printable tables, questions and a quick quiz on slides

Resource based on the edexcel 2016 spec (9-1) Note - I have included some exam style questions but you will need to use edexcel worksheets for this lesson. This was bottom set Y10 over 2 lessons Starter: printable quiz to test their existing knowledge (answers on PowerPoint) Main: Pupils write sentences using work and power. This is followed by an explanation of what they mean in a scientific context and the equations that relate to them. Some questions on the PowerPoint then test their understanding. Pupils then watch a short video on work done, energy and power in a golfing putt. They then try to relate what they have learned to a sport of their choice. I then gave the option to pick a level of challenge from three of the edexcel worksheets. Plenary pupils match up words to definitions

Starter: pupils have some information to read and questions to answer. For lower ability the words are highlighted or for more able they are not. Main: pupils focus on Yellowstone national park and the effect of wolf extinction have on the ecosystems. This then goes on to look at a video about the reintroduction of wolves. Includes a small amount on graph work showing a predator-prey numbers link. Pupils then use edexcel worksheets to complete learning. Plenary: pupils sum up in 3 sentences
