Posters to show methods for the 4 operations. Made and used for my year 3 class.

A World War 2 themed maths investigation in which children try to find the first names of the soldiers using clue cards. Each clue card has the surname of the soldier and some clues. This resource was made to provide an opportunity for children to work collaboratively and apply the number skills they had been taught. It covers using the < > = symbols, place value, partitioning and rounding as well as opportunities to explain reasoning.

A ppt used for a one off maths activity used with my year 3 class. Make a cardboard box, fill with goodies and attach a combination lock. Children should develop their workings to ensure they find all the possible codes. At the end, ask the children to write the code they think it could be on a Post-It and invite children to try to unlock the code. If someone does, they can all have the goodies!
