Included are top tips for approaching exam questions and lessons comparing select poems from the anthology. Poems: War Photographer, Remains, Charge of the Light Brigade, Exposure, Bayonet Charge, Ozymandias, The Prelude.

This is a range of revision activities based on Power and Conflict poetry, including: A fun and interactive revision quiz, practice questions, revision of key quotes from each of the set poems and TOP TIPS for approaching the AQA English Literature exam including the unseen poetry. Can be used for whole class revision or as a classroom display.

Approximately 3-5 lessons on nature poetry which is a subtle introduction to 'the Romantics' - this works well as a step into AQA GCSE poetry! Included are analysis and creative tasks aimed at higher ability year 8 but could be done with any KS3 class. Enjoy!

A unit of approx. 6 lessons (depending on pace and ability) which introduces the concept of media representations. This is aimed at Year 9 English students but could be used with GCSE/A Level Media Students. Lessons cover: film genre, representations of ethnicity in the media fosucing on The Help as well as wider media products from a range of forms (advertising, magazines), ethnicity theory, camera angles, gender in TV advertising and music videos (Uptown Funk), LGBTQ music videos (Girls Like Girls) and Todorov’s Narrative.
