Scheme of work for Year 1 A Level Economics using a Mastery Learning Approach. The specification is split into Units. Each Unit includes lesson resources and end of unit quizzes.
Mastery Learning focuses on the principle that you don't move on from a unit until 80% of the class have mastered the unit. To master the unit students need to score 80% on the unit quiz. Those who don't master the unit first time relearn concepts they failed to master, whilst students who have mastered it complete enrichment activities (provided). A second unit test is provided to retest students who didn't master concepts first time. Those who still don't master the unit are given additional 1:1 help or set homework tasks.
Unit 1 covers; Economics as a social science, Positive and normative economic statements, The economic problem, Rational decision making, Alternative views of consumer behaviour
