The power-point has links to the two articles I have used in the presentation. I take no credit for a section on the last third as I found it online. 31 examples of books that have been turned into popular films to get your students into reading. This would make an amazing wall display with a title and subheading included in the package! I would use this as a challenge to my students by asking them their favourite film on the display and asking them to read it by the end of the year. At the end of the year get them to write a review and use the same display the next year with reviews! Some examples of the book adaptations included are: -Jurassic Park -Die Hard -Trainspotting -The Social Network -The Silence of the Lambs -Mrs. Doubtfire I have aimed this resource at lots of different age groups so if you are using this at a primary school please check to make sure all of the titles are appropriate (For example: The Silence of The Lambs), there are, however, lots titles that are appropriate for primary level like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A word search containing common words that are spelt wrong frequently. This can be a good homework, starter or part of a relaxing/ end of term lesson. Students must also copy out each word correctly three times before completing the word search in order for them to become more familiar with the word and hopefully help them remember it. Six forms to help make your life easier! These forms will help when students are absent from lessons. The five forms are: 1. while you were away - if a student is absent, fill in this form so they know what work they need to do and any homework that was set. This eliminates the what did I miss conversation at the beginning of each lesson. I would fill it out right at the beginning of the lesson so you don't forget! 2. Miss/Sir i won't be in lessons - a form for students to fill in letting you know when and why they wont be in lessons. This will help you plan for their absence and set them some work while they are away. 3. See me - a note to pass round registers or to the student in class about when they can catch up on the work they missed. 4. Student excuse - a form for students to fill when they do not complete homework, this helps you understand why more discretely. It also means you can keep a track of who forgets and how many times. 5. When will i be getting a visit from you - if students have missed work and need to catch up they fill in this form so you know when they are free. 6. Have i missed you - if a student hasn't received the work that they missed they fill in this form so you know what work they need. I hope these help you in your everyday teaching. A short one page biography of J.B. Priestley's life and political views. It mostly focuses on his political views and writing but there are sections on his early life. This would be best used so a class can understand J.B. Priestley a little bit better. It would also be good to use this so kids can understand why he was a socialist and his reasons for writing An Inspector Calls.
