This lesson is about The lesson includes a settler, and exam question (WJEC, as usually), All Speak Round Robin activity of the economic problems in Nazi Germany and an I-pad research slide on the ways HIler tried to address the economic problems of the country at the time. As per my previous lessons, it is very easy to adapt 'I-pad research' slide to your needs by providing them with a reference to the pages in the book or by printing some summary out (I like using BBC Bitesize). I then finished the lesson with a 'Keywords' plenary which you can organise however you prefer.

This is the lesson I have made for the motivational triggers week prior to Christmas. This is basically instruction on how to make and describe a house. There is also a detailed guide on how to describe the house using vocabulary on the topic of house, rooms and prepositions of place. My students totally loved the starter. This is a simple Learning Grid to revise main figures and concepts in relation to the Changing Attitudes to Race topic within the 20th century USA history widely used in quite a few examination boards. It is a good revision task - you only need dice!

All of them have activities in common as I have used them for different groups and was catching up on the topic information with some of them, thus I have enclosed all three of them. In-between the three of them, they include a set of my standard activities, such as settler, starter (exam question with success criteria, model answer, explanation on how to assess the answer, peer/self assessment, SPAG control slides), information research task (see appropriate handout) and some fun activities for revision of information.

These are revision materials poor to the assessment in the Nazi Social policies, Nazi Control, Persecution and Antisemitism. The vast majority of slides provide general information for the students to remember and revise certain topics that are likely to appear in exam. The lesson includes settler, starter (cross one out activity), information slides and revision activity (revision handouts attached in the end, one from BBC Bitesize website (Antisemitism), another one fro the official revision guide for the course). I also attach another file (Activity) which includes another settler and an exam question example.

This lesson is about the life in Nazi Germany in the beginning of the WWII. It includes a settler, an example of how a student's book should look like, a starter (exam question task with a model answer, success criteria, an explanation on how to assess the peer's answer, a peer assessment slide and SPAG control slide), learning outcomes slide, an introduction slide on the WWII, information research task (based on the revision guide page included in this resource), oracy activity and a plenary asking students to explain which social group they would like to belong to in the Nazi Germany.

This is a set of three lessons for the KS3 RE class in relation to Easter, Christmas and the stories of Moses and Noah. The lessons include starters, challenging Kagan activities, and some of the introduce PEE structure to the students with sentence starters and assessment criteria for peer/self-assessment!

This is the resource that I have prepared for both GCSE and KS3 classes. It can be used as a template as the only thing you would change is the text and the words. I believe the full set of slides needs to be used several times until a group of students remember the sequence of actions. The only thing left is to continue revisiting to gain confidence in using the dictionary! The text that I chose to introduce this task is based upon short cultural texts on the topics of a Basque festival, Aste Nagusia, and Las Hogueras de San Juan. Students look through the first text and analyse the explanation of different things one can find next to the Spanish word in a dictionary. Then they compete (a game!=team challenge) to translate the words. Then they work in teams to figure out how to use the bi-lingual dictionary effectively - they analyse simple words used in classroom language and try to find their meaning in Spanish at the same time not forgetting to pay attention to gender of the nouns and adjectival agreement (extension - they think of more examples of words they could use). For KS4 students you might add another level of difficulty - include verbs in English in different tenses and let them decide how to correctly translate these verbs in Spanish. Finally they have a look at the second text and try translating it themselves into English (or given words / very simple text if KS3) The most important thing in my point of view is to remember that translating is an art not a precise science! NOTE: I used a dictionary cut outs from the internet which is most likely an extract from Collins Eng-Sp and Sp-Eng dictionary.

This is a differentiated Speaking / Writing exercise that I tend to use every half-term to encourage spontaneous speaking / writing. It is a variation of a trap door exercise that can be adapted for every topic as only topic specific vocabulary changes (not connectives / frequencies / opinions). This particular mat is to speak / write on the topic of (Future) Jobs / Employment plans. Enjoy!
