This pack provides all resources needed for an hour-long staff meeting about activities to use in class for teaching spelling, punctuation and grammar. Your staff team will look at examples of SPaG questions from SATs, reflect about the SPaG requirements for their year group and how they have been covered, complete a grammar terminology activity, take part in whole group grammar activities and then try out several fun grammar activities on their tables. I delivered this meeting to a large staff team and received a round of applause! Includes: - looking at a range of methods of teaching reading from the past and present - an activity in which staff attempt to decode five mystery texts - discussion of diagrams which show the skills used for reading - a task to match activities to reading skills and - an opportunity for teachers to reflect on the provision for reading in their own classrooms.
