Volar is a great song to introduce the concept of Spanish infinitives. It is quick but upbeat and words are quite easy to follow. This worksheet contains a fill-in the gap activity, the whole lyrics (answers) and the English translation with some tips on how to make the most of this song. Students love this song and are pretty quick to learn the lyrics and sing along. They usually dance along and perform as a class. Most add Alvaro Soler to their playlists :) Perfect for KS3 and KS4, just adding the translation of lyrics into English. Can also be used for end of term/year activity.

Fun activity to practise present tense irregular verbs (aller, avoir, etre, faire, pouvoir, vouloir) in French. Great way to engage students with this hands on activity. Students cut out and rearrange the triangles. You can even add an element of competition by giving a prize to the first ones to finish the puzzle.

Ideal to revise vocabulary and prepare for the listening and reading exams in particular. I have underlined the words taken from the Higher section for easy differentiation. This resource was created for my Y10/11 students as a way to help them prepare for the Writing and Speaking components of the new AQA GCSE French examinations. Contains 2 Word documents: 1. Foundation level 2. Higher level with a colour coded system to highlight the more complex structures and extra tenses. Both texts include opinion phrases, different tenses and are translated in English to help comprehension. I have added the AQA recommended vocabulary from the “ME, my family and friends” and “Technology in every day life” sections. It is fully editable and once downloaded just remove the boxes to see the texts.

Students use their creative skills to produce an original Advent Calendar using as much target language as possible.
