A Robin Hood comprehension activity that is a general comprehension with levelled activities attached- This I have done with my mixed aged (Year 3-Year 6) class with great success pitching the more able children at which ever activity is suitable to them like the mild, chilli, spicy, hot, very hot approach with children progressing at their own pace - this is a stand alone lesson but would fit ideally with reading and legends and myths as a class and has intitiated great discussion and debate as many of the class are fully aware of the legend of Robin Hood ! I hope this helps and is ideal as I say for a one off lesson !

Jesse Owens assembly with you tube link within it and additional colouring resources if required for the children - Ideal for key Stage 2 children and it leaves a thought provoking message to all ! Great for that Monday morning when you run out of ideas !!

A great Powerpoint to continue the story from where the Iron Man landed at the foot of the cliff - this to be used in conjunction with the class book The Iron Man by Ted Hughes - I have also modelled an example of mine to give them an idea of what and how to write rather than a balank page . The lesson went very well for a longer write and planning session

River Nile comprehension Geography lesson/powerpoint which ready to go all you need to do is print/photocopy or show on the screen Ideal for Ancient Egypt topic on a geography lesson looking at what and how the Nile is used - ideal for year 5 and 6 but would also suit y7/8 and possibly Y9 at secondary level - A good stand alone lesson from off the shelf

A Stand alone piece of descriptive writing - Big Write style based on a fairground - sounds and video within this and an example piece of writing to improve Year 6 thought this was very helpful as it addressed all the senses and the basic example they all could verbally improve and write then to greater depth - A good stand alone lesson !

A powerpoint file and video link for an assembly on Courage - This then has a link to the Channel 4`s trailer for the paralympic games from 2016 - I have done this for an assistant head post (interview day etc and the governor and deputy head thought this was truly inspirational for the children to think about themselves and others - The overarching theme being " I can " A powerful message with a prayer also at the end ! Do enjoy !

Embedded clause lesson ideal for year 5 and 6 and geared to children of all abilities with clear progression ! Ideal for the first teaching of this and as a class - Super progression from the activty sheets also - The headteacher gave me good with outstanding for this lesson ! Enjoy and use as you see fit !

Semi colon activity and powerpoint lesson combined- ideal for Years 5 and 6 English lessons and worked very well as a standard alone grammar lesson to aid childrens learning - progression within the lesson also here through staged activities

Rosa Parks assembly - a great piece to show year groups 5 and 6 and is pretty much stand alone - do read through the powerpoint and look at the information - thought provoking and worked well with older ones as I say

A short powerpoint on drawing hands to then replicate and build upon to draw the Iron man hand escaping from the trap - I did this with a year 3 class who to be fair stuck at it well and we created some great pieces of work -This would be great to do over 2-3 weeks as I did to support them I would perhaps show them a video on the drawing of hands also - Great lesson though for an afternoon to focus on theme - Art and DT - feel free to use as you see fit for your class whilst studying the Iron man !

A fantastic open ended and creative Brazil homework task ! Great ideas for the children to go off and research and identify aspects of Brazil and then to deliver to the class if they so wish !! This went down really well with my Year 4 class and also they learnt a great deal more than they would in any formal lessons ! This would fit any year group though also ! Enjoy !

A great resource that my colleague and I completed over a 1/2 term in the afternoon lessons to build a car out of wood and plastic - wheels parts etc we bought off EBay and YPO catalog for the children who completed one between 2 - this used their maths skills, construction skills and science forces skills as they have to build an elastic band powered car that would hold a 1kg weight and travel down the school corridor - It went really well as a project that we ran for 2 different year groups. This would work for early secondary school DT also and is a great cross curricular lesson and activity - any questions do ask away !

Book and character work in this regard - ideal for either a guided reading session or English themed work for a few days - pictures and text all there and activities within the Powerpoint - feel free to use as you wish - my year 5 class loved it and we did a mixture of work within this as necessary ! Another Iron Man resource with this time a modelled piece for the children by me and attached resources in the Powerpoint I wrote this with little pictures of the Iron Man at the top of the kids books - choice of colours to add which level of work they wish to complete also - this is I believe a typical 80-20 lesson with the kids doing the 80 !!

An Iron man opener resource with written example for the class to read also ! They found this very useful for a lead in ! Plenary attached also to evaluate their own work - do find it of some use !

A study on Galileo related to science and Space and discoveries ideas etc - then once the children have seen and watched this they write this up as a study as a class - all were really engaged and would suit years 4 and 5 well - great for something a bit different to !

Maths starter ideal for year 3 and 4 - I found this a great way to engage the class as they came in from break or lunch and is a great settling activity to get them on task A super way to start the day also !

Grandma warning poem to revise word classes and a fun way to build upon earlier learning with accompanying activity sheet within the PPT a great resource and is appealing to all Year 3,4,5 and 6 children I have worked with this ! A super stand alone activity !
