I am starting my first year of teaching in August with a wonderful primary two class. I have been fortunate to have taught this stage in two of my placements so I have tried and tested these resources. Tag me in social media if you download anything as I would LOVE to see how you ar using them!

'Choose a Calm Activity' Cube

This is a handy resource for your calm corner/box to provide another way for the children to communicate. The child can point to the activity they wish to complete and you can provide them with the means to do so. This is great for children who struggle to effectively communicate when they are feeling emotional. It includes: talk to a peer; talk to the teacher; draw a picture; read a book; have a think; and do yoga.

I saw a copy of these on twinkl, but they did not suit NLC scheme so I adapted and made my own copy. I am going to display these in the classroom for easy access for the children, but I will take them down and use them as flashcards also.
