This is a handy resource for your calm corner/box to provide another way for the children to communicate. The child can point to the activity they wish to complete and you can provide them with the means to do so. This is great for children who struggle to effectively communicate when they are feeling emotional. It includes: talk to a peer; talk to the teacher; draw a picture; read a book; have a think; and do yoga.

If you are anything like me, your mind goes blank as soon as you step in that gym hall. These are just wee games to start off your PE lesson and takes the pressure of thinking of something with 30 teeny faces looking at you waiting!

I saw a copy of these on twinkl, but they did not suit NLC scheme so I adapted and made my own copy. I am going to display these in the classroom for easy access for the children, but I will take them down and use them as flashcards also.

I have seen a lot of brain breaks on other socials but they weren’t really suitable for early years! I use some of the ideas from there and thought of some of my own, and here we are!

A note to send home when a child loses a tooth and it will save the utter chaos in the classroom!
