Two fantastic complete cover lessons with variations to give students choice. Great for KS3 or KS4. Students can complete these one the page or in their sketchbooks. One cover lesson asks students to draw food items in the style of Andy Warhol, Sarah Graham or Wayne Thiebaud considering their styles and techniques and how to incorporate them into their work. The second cover lesson is an observational drawing task either tonal drawing using mark making or colour pencil focused on blending colours. Using a long life milk carton or juice carton you can introduce students to the etching process in a low cost effective way. In this workshop students are introduced to the etching technique asked theory of knowledge questions and taken through the process. Student examples are also included at a variety of ability levels. Materials needed are juice boxes or cartons with silver foil interior. I ask staff to drop off almond milk/longlife milk cartons to the art dept for recycling. sharp needles or sharp compasses are also needed. This workshop lends itself well to any theme students may be working on.

It is a versatile lesson well resourced with a pp looking at the artist Bisa Butler, introducing the way she uses colour, leadership questions with examples of young leaders from different background and an art activity aimed at primary students which can be completed with just the print outs and colour pencil.
