This resource, suitable for all ages and stages, is made of a before, during and after cube which aims to encourage and develop student comprehension during reading tasks, such as guided reading. The cubes have question prompts to encourage learners to think more in-depth and critically about what they have read.

I have created editing pencils to encourage learners to self-assess and reflect on the quality of their work before handing in to the teacher. This will not only save the time of both learners and teachers, but it provides the learners with more responsibility and accountability over the quality of their work. If the resource is laminated (which is recommended to save waste), the learners can tick off each step as they go with a dry marker and then wipe clean once they are finished.

Included in this resource is key aspects of phonics with a definition for each key word. These can be added onto your lanyard to keep handy whenever you need them.

These plenary cards have been made to help with formative assessment at the end of a lesson, task or day to consolidate and build upon what your learners have learned. These can be chosen at random, or you can allow a learner to choose what type of formative assessment the class will have for that day!
