This is the second lesson in a scheme of work created for the 2017 specification GCSE Sociology course. It is designed to be used alongside the Collins textbook, guiding students through the book activities, along with more active and kinetic activities all within a lesson structure including an engaging starter and useful plenary. Many of the lessons can also be used as a standalone resource without the text book if required.
This lesson covers the socialisation/social control role, and the political role of education. It includes a presentation with starter, main lesson activities, focus on application and evaluation skills through questioning. There is also a homework task, exam style question for peer marking, and a lesson plan included. The full topic bundle includes homework tasks, games, tests, quizzes and a detailed lesson plan for each lesson.
