I am a languages teacher who has, over the years, created many resources for teaching French and Spanish. Here I am sharing a few of these, in the hope it makes a hard-working teacher's life a little easier at a time when they need something quickly. Often adding more resources, so watch this space!

Highly versatile in terms of how it’s used and could be made more difficult for more able learners, e.g. by asking for the word in a sentence, in a sentence in a different tense, checking the gender, etc. Also available in my shop in German, Italian and French.

Animals Connect 4 Game for French, Spanish, German, Italian class

A Connect4 game based in Powerpoint including animals vocabulary from Mira, Expo, Stimmt! There is an individual slide for each vocab item in all 4 languages as well as a vocab list and Connect 4 game board. Pupils must name the item using relevant vocabulary in target language in order to place their counter. Aim is to get 4 in a row, either horizontallly, vertically or diagonally. I usually split the group into 2 and have them compete against each other. More able could be asked to put the vocab item into a sentence, or use different tenses, etc. The Powerpoint must be used in edit mode, or the counters won’t move. The pictures must also be ‘sent to back’ (or counters ‘sent to front’) in order for the counters to show in front of the pictures. The file could also be shared digitally with pupils and they could play in pairs. Vocab provided on second slide.

I usually put students into two teams and have them compete against one another. The game can be made as easy/challenging as you like, or you could graduate difficulty with each game. Spanish Rules of Accentuation - PPT with interactive quiz

(0)
This a 57-slide PowerPoint which outlines the rules of accentuation in Spanish, followed by a basic, interactive quiz to help students remember the rules. Rules of accentuation in Spanish revolve around two main syllable types (tónicas and átonas), and four main word types (agudas, llanas, esdrújulas and sobresdrújulas). The PowerPoint explains how the different word types have stress on different syllables, which are counted backwards from the end of the word; when the different types of words carry a ‘tilde’ (accent) and why, and some exceptions to these rules.
