GCSE Physics - Free body diagrams and vector diagrams worksheet

(0)
A worksheet aimed at helping students to draw Free Body Diagrams. It also gives them the opportunity to calculate resultant forces and vectors based on information provided. Finally they get to draw vector diagrams to combine vectors to find a resultant. Aimed at GCSE Physics but also suitable for combined science.

GCSE Science - Number prefix Conversion Calculations

(0)
A structured worksheet to take students through converting prefixes to actual numbers, for example, 10mA. It covers the main prefixes they will come across, micro, milli, centi, kilo and Mega. It enables them to practice a wide range of conversions. Complete with Answer sheet!

Powers of Ten and Standard Form Lesson plan and presentation

(1)
The lesson plan and accompanying presentation for Science students to learn about standard form, aka scientific notation, and common prefixes. The PPT is fully editable and has opportunities for AfL embedded into the lesson. Any images are CC0 license so royalty free. This takes students from guesstimating size, to understanding the need for standard form to recognising standard prefixes such as kilo. There is an accompanying homework task (available separately) - Powers of Ten, Prefixes and Standard form Homework/worksheet.

Powers of Ten, Prefixes and Standard Form Homework/Worksheet

(0)
This resource is an opportunity for students to practice converting to common prefixes such as micro, milli etc. and converting numbers to standard form or scientific notation. There are 20 questions for them to complete and I have included the answers as well! This is aimed at Science students for the new maths content within the new GCSE (2016) for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC but it would be equally suitable for anyone needing to practice standard form so any Maths students. It is designed as a homework but can equally well be used as a lesson activity. This resource is designed to accompany my Powers of Ten lesson (available separately) which is a good introduction to this worksheet.

GCSE Physics - Density calculations

(0)
A differentiated worksheet for practicing density calculations. It starts off with using the formula in its standard form then progresses to rearranging the formula. All data is real data. This is designed for the new GCSE in Physics. Also included in the download are the worked answers!

GCSE Physics - Scalar and Vector Quantities lesson plan, presentation and worksheet

(0)
A fully featured lesson plan, presentation and worksheet that introduces students to scalar and vector quantities. They learn about magnitude and direction and classify different quantities as scalar or vector. The PPT then takes them through drawing magnitude arrows and then how to draw vector diagrams from this. The worksheet gives them plenty of practice at drawing simple vector diagrams. GCSE Sciences - Maths for Science Knowledge Organiser

This knowledge organiser is a great revision aid for all those maths skills that students need for the new GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Combined Science. It covers standard form, conversions, definitions of keywords such as uncertainty and precision, graphs and operator precedence. Use it for students as a mat to aid in calculations or as a summary of knowledge to be learned.
